According to reports from Sky Sport on the 13th of May 2026, the 2025/26 Premier League title race has taken another dramatic twist after Manchester City defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 to move within two points of league leaders Arsenal FC with just two matches remaining.
Pep Guardiola’s side now sit on 77 points, while Arsenal remain top with 79 points after 36 matches each. The title race is therefore set for a tense conclusion as both teams prepare for their final two Premier League fixtures.
Arsenal FC appear to have the more favourable run-in on paper. Mikel Arteta’s side will first host relegated Burnley FC at the Emirates Stadium before ending the season away against Crystal Palace. Burnley are currently struggling near the bottom of the table and have gone several matches without a win, making Arsenal favourites heading into the encounter.
The final-day clash against Palace could still present challenges for the Gunners, especially with Oliver Glasner’s side known for causing problems against top teams this season. However, Palace may also rotate players because of their European commitments later in the month.
In comparison, Manchester City arguably face the more difficult schedule. Guardiola’s men travel away to AFC Bournemouth before hosting Aston Villa FC on the final day of the season.
Bournemouth have been one of the league’s most dangerous attacking teams at home this campaign and are still fighting for a strong finish in the table. Aston Villa, meanwhile, remain heavily involved in the battle for European qualification and could arrive at the Etihad Stadium needing points themselves.
Despite City’s tougher fixtures, their recent form remains extremely impressive. Guardiola’s side have continued to apply pressure on Arsenal with a strong unbeaten run in the league since January.
Still, Arsenal remain in control of the title race. If Arteta’s side win both remaining matches, they will secure their first Premier League title since 2004 regardless of Manchester City’s results.
