As per a report from The Chelsea Chronicles on Thursday June 4, 2026, Chelsea is said to have an interest in Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso amidst increasing doubt about Marc Cucurella’s future. The Spanish player has been rumored to possibly return to La Liga, with Barcelona reportedly keeping an eye on his situation before the summer transfer period begins.
Italian sources suggest that Chelsea is looking at Cambiaso as a possible substitute if Cucurella departs from Stamford Bridge. The defender from Juventus has made a mark in recent seasons, evolving into one of the most efficient attacking full-backs in Serie A and drawing interest from various top-tier clubs.
Cambiaso became a Juventus player in 2022 after spending a year on loan at Genoa. Since his return, he has played 132 matches for the Turin club and solidified his position as a regular member of the Italian national team, achieving 19 senior appearances.
At 26 years old, he has been involved in a total of 25 goals and assists during his tenure with Juventus, mainly functioning as a wing-back. His offensive abilities are seen as a significant asset and offer a different style compared to Chelsea’s current left-back roster.
Despite ongoing transfer rumors, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano mentioned that Chelsea has refuted any claims of approaching the player. Romano stated that insiders at the club are adamant that no official effort has been initiated at this moment.
Romano noted that Cambiaso might exit Juventus this summer if an appropriate offer materializes. Barcelona is also rumored to value the defender; however, the Spanish champions have other transfer concerns to deal with before they concentrate on enhancing their full-back area.
Juventus is reportedly now more receptive to selling than they were a year prior, especially after failing to qualify for the Champions League. The club might need to raise funds, presenting a chance for interested clubs to test their determination.
Previously, Manchester City had a £56 million bid turned down, but Juventus is now thought to be open to considering offers ranging from £36 million to £45 million. Any move from Chelsea would likely depend on Cucurella’s circumstances, with the Blues potentially funding a transfer through his sale.
