During an interview on Plantium TV, PDP chieftain, Abba Moro shed more light on institutional efforts made to address the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party.
He explained that the National Assembly took deliberate steps to intervene by creating a structured platform for engagement among key stakeholders involved in the dispute.
According to him, the move was aimed at ensuring that all sides were given the opportunity to present their positions while working towards a common resolution.
Moro noted that the intervention became necessary as tensions within the party continued to escalate, requiring a coordinated and credible mediation process.
“The National Assembly constituted a seven-man committee specifically to interact with all principal actors in the PDP crisis,” Moro said.
He stated that the committee was tasked with engaging various factions within the party in order to better understand the root causes of the disagreements.
The PDP chieftain added that the committee moved across different groups, holding consultations and facilitating discussions intended to bridge divides.
He emphasized that the approach was designed to promote inclusiveness and ensure that no stakeholder was left out of the reconciliation process.
Moro maintained that the committee’s work reflected the commitment of the National Assembly to stabilizing the party during a difficult period.
He further noted that such interventions underscore the importance of institutional mechanisms in resolving political conflicts within party structures.
