A fresh debate has emerged within opposition political circles following comments by PDP chieftain Arc Uche Rochas, who criticized NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi over his political decisions regarding coalition talks and party alignments ahead of future elections.
In a post shared via his X account on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Rochas argued that Obi’s choices prioritized personal political interests over the broader aspirations of his supporters, particularly members of the Obidient movement.
He said, “In the real sense of it, the coalition arrangement favored the Obidient movement more than it would have for Obi himself, while the NDC arrangement favored only Obi,” Rochas wrote.
Favor As Higher Power? (The hidden truth) Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
“And he chose to play a selfish political game and throw the entire Obidient under the bus,” he added.
The remarks quickly generated reactions online, drawing responses from political stakeholders and supporters of different camps.
Reacting to the comments, an aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar alleged that “Obi had not officially declared for ADC when Dr. Mo was given the party ticket to run for AMAC LGA elections. His people were given key slots, he pulled them all out when he saw he couldn’t bamboozle his way to the ticket,” the aide stated.
Another user argued and said, “Obidients are not politicians. They are not registered members of any political party. Their party is Obi. If Obi leaves, they leave. If anybody picks up a form under the guise of Obidient, he is now a politician and a member of that party who wants to pursue his ambition,” the user wrote.
Another user said, “Everybody that got tickets in South East and most of North Central and both Kaduna is an Obidient member. So how far?” the user asked.
