According to a video posted on Arise News on Wednesday July 15, 2026, Buba Galadima credited former President Muhammadu Buhari with ordering thousands of tractors for Nigerian farmers, despite his own history of political opposition to the former leader.
Galadima made the comments while criticizing the current administration’s handling of agricultural resources.
Galadima explained that although he had strongly opposed Buhari politically in the past, he acknowledged that the former president had taken concrete steps to support farmers by importing tractors from Brazil.
He said these tractors, however, remain unused, sitting idle at a facility near Abuja rather than being distributed to the farmers who need them.
In his words, Buba Galadima said, “Buhari, as bad as he is and as fierce as I fought him, ordered tractors, thousands of tractors from Brazil.
“They are all now packed at the Seed Council at in Sheda after Gwagwalada. Anybody should go and see. They refused to distribute it to the farmers,” he said.
Galadima said this failure to deliver agricultural equipment to farmers reflects broader mismanagement under the current administration, which he said has neglected agriculture despite its status as Nigeria’s largest employer.
He said the government had also allowed food imports that lowered prices for local produce, discouraging farmers from continuing their work.
Galadima said if the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket wins the 2027 election, the unused tractors would be distributed to farmers within a week, alongside broader subsidies aimed at boosting agricultural production and reducing Nigeria’s reliance on imported food and raw materials.
