BREAKING: APC Will Attempt To Snatch Your Victory – Ayodele Warns Adeleke; Oyebanji Re-elected

Osun Guber Poll: APC will attempt to snatch your victory – Primate Ayodele warns Adeleke

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Sunday warned the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, to be on the alert regarding the upcoming governorship election in the state.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele said Adeleke has been ‘anointed’ to win the election but the APC will make moves to snatch victory from him.

The cleric warned the governor not to relent as there are plans to pressure the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to compromise.

He said: “In Osun election, God has already anointed Ademola Adeleke to secure a second term in office. He will win the election, but the APC are working towards the aftermath of the win. They will attempt to snatch victory from Adeleke if he isn’t careful enough.

“The governor must follow them closely and ensure he has eyes on the ground because they have already concluded their plans to go beyond the election polls to get victory by all means. Adeleke must stay with his win till the very end.”

Furthermore, Primate Ayodele warned the INEC chairman, Prof Joash Amupitan, against allowing himself to be used by the opposition party in Osun, stating that he will be made to suffer for it if he doesn’t allow things to go the way they should.

He urged him not to play games with the election to avoid being used as a ‘scapegoat’ by God, the people of Osun and Nigerians.

“If the election is rigged, the INEC chairman will be made to suffer for it and those who pushed him into it will not stand by him. It’s better he allows things to go the way they should to avoid any issues after the election.

“He shouldn’t allow himself to be used by politicians in the state; if not, God will be angry with him, and the people of Nigeria will not take it easy with him.”

Fubara hails fathers as unsung heroes, backbone of families

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has extolled the virtues of unconditional love and immeasurable sacrifice as the defining hallmarks of fatherhood and the bedrock upon which families and society are built.

In a goodwill message on Sunday, to commemorate the 2026 Father’s Day celebration, Fubara paid glowing tributes to fathers for serving as the pillars that hold families together and, by extension, strengthen communities across Rivers State and Nigeria.

He noted that across the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State, fathers labour daily to provide for their families despite the economic and social challenges confronting the nation.

This was contained in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Onwuka Nzeshi and made available to newsmen.

Fubara stated,” Father’s Day is a special occasion set aside to honour the quiet love and selfless sacrifices that fathers make across generations and throughout the world.

“A father’s love is quiet strength. It is the man who leaves home before dawn and returns after dusk so his children can eat and go to school.

“It is the man who denies himself so his family can have. It is the firm hand that corrects and the open arms that forgive. That love is the invisible thread that holds our homes together, and that sacrifice is the foundation of our society.

“I have seen fathers labour under the sun, paddle through floods and endure hardship, all so that the next generation will have a better chance than they did. That is heroism without medals.”

The governor emphasised that when fathers stand, families stand; when families stand, communities stand; and when communities stand, Rivers State stands.

He stressed that responsible fatherhood produces stable homes, while responsible sons and daughters help to build peaceful neighbourhoods, harmonious communities and a prosperous state.

He pledged that his administration would continue to draw inspiration from the resilience and sacrifices of fathers in building a Rivers State worthy of their commitment and labour.

Fubara prayed that God would grant every father, grandfather, uncle, guardian and mentor good health, strength and long life to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Father’s Day: Natasha hails fathers as unsung heroes

The Senator representing Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Sunday paid glowing tribute to fathers across Nigeria, describing them as unsung heroes whose sacrifices, resilience and dedication remain critical to the stability of families and the development of society.

In a Father’s Day goodwill message issued in Abuja, the lawmaker commended father figures for their invaluable contributions to raising children and strengthening communities, noting that their efforts often go unnoticed despite the significant responsibilities they shoulder.

Father’s Day is celebrated globally to honour fathers and father figures for their role in nurturing families and shaping future generations.

The annual observance also serves as an opportunity to highlight the importance of responsible fatherhood and the impact fathers have on society’s moral and social development.

Against the backdrop of economic challenges facing many Nigerian households, Natasha said fathers continue to play vital roles as providers, protectors, mentors and sources of guidance for their families.

She said, “On this special Father’s Day, I celebrate all fathers and father figures whose steadfast commitment, love, and sacrifices continue to strengthen our families and communities.

“Fathers are truly the unsung heroes of our society. Their tireless efforts, resilience, and devotion deserve our deepest appreciation.”

The senator stressed that responsible fatherhood remains essential to nation-building, arguing that the values fathers instil in their children help shape future generations and contribute to the emergence of a peaceful and prosperous society.

According to her, fathers serve as role models whose influence extends far beyond the home, helping to build character and inspire hope among younger generations.

“A father’s wisdom, discipline and example leave a lasting impact on the lives of children. Through their sacrifices and guidance, fathers nurture dreams, build character, and inspire hope. Their influence extends beyond the home and contributes significantly to the moral fabric of our society,” she said.

Natasha urged fathers to remain steadfast in their responsibilities despite prevailing challenges and to continue providing positive leadership within their families and communities.
