A fresh eyewitness account has raised serious concerns over the level of coordination behind recent mass kidnappings in Oriire Local Government Area of Ogbomosho, Oyo State, suggesting that the attacks may have involved insider collaboration.
According to an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo on WithChude, residents of the affected community believe that the kidnappings were not random, but carefully planned and executed with the help of informants within the locality.
The eyewitness clearly stated: “The kidnappers have informants in our community.”
He explained that the attackers appeared to have received precise intelligence before carrying out the operations.
According to him, villagers observed that the kidnappers had individuals on the ground who provided strategic information that guided how the attacks were carried out.
The report further noted that this intelligence enabled the armed groups to coordinate simultaneous attacks on three different schools in the area.
It was also gathered that the kidnappers made use of pre-planned escape routes, allowing them to move victims into the forest without being immediately intercepted.
According to him, this awareness allowed them to plant bombs and booby traps within forest paths, making it extremely dangerous for security operatives and local hunters attempting rescue operations.
He suggests that these tactics were designed to frustrate rescue efforts and delay any pursuit by the army or community volunteers.
The claims have heightened fears among residents, who now suspect that the scale of the operation may have been supported by internal collaborators.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations into the coordinated attacks as security concerns grow across affected communities.
