Following Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed’s planned defection from the People’s Democratic Party, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has urged him to work with it in making a choice.
In a statement by the leadership of IPAC in Bauchi State on Wednesday, the council welcomed the Governor’s decision to leave the PDP, citing “irreconcilable differences” within the party.
The coordinator of political activities in the country, IPAC expressed readiness to take the lead in preparing for the Governor’s move to another party.
Chairman of IPAC, Hon Auwal Isa, noted that Governor Bala Mohammed has the constitutional right to join any party of his choice, saying many parties are courting him due to his political influence in Bauchi State and Nigeria.
“Anywhere he goes, the place will definitely shake and be filled with activities,” he said. IPAC expressed readiness to advise the Governor on which party to join, saying if the governor has already made up his mind, it is prepared to support him.
The council urged the Governor to prioritize the interests of Bauchi State and Nigeria in his decision.
