According to Nigerian Tribune, a prominent figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Ken Imansuagbon, has urged Nigerians to begin rallying opposition against President Bola Tinubu’s potential second-term ambition, stressing that citizens must take steps to reclaim what he described as their rightful mandate.
Imansuagbon, who previously contested for the Edo State governorship under the Labour Party (LP), made this appeal in Ewohimi, located in Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo State.
He spoke while welcoming a significant number of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the ADC.
The group of defectors was led by former PDP stalwart, Chief Clifford Eineh, and their move was portrayed as part of an emerging political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
While addressing party supporters and loyalists at the event, Imansuagbon emphasized the need for Nigerians across both state and federal levels to prepare to firmly reject what he characterized as the unsuccessful leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He maintained that a collective effort by the electorate would be crucial in shaping the country’s political future.
Popularly known as “Rice Man” due to his long-standing philanthropic activities, particularly the distribution of rice to the less privileged over nearly two decades, Imansuagbon also turned his attention to Edo State politics.
He declared that voters would oppose any move by Governor Monday Okpebholo to secure a second term in office.
According to him, regardless of any form of political pressure or intimidation, the will of the people would ultimately prevail, reinforcing his belief in the power of the electorate to determine leadership outcomes.
