According to a report by Punch on Monday, June 1, 2026, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has emphasised the importance of quality and dignity in leadership service, saying she ensures that those who cater for her are also treated with respect and given the same standard of food they prepare for her.

She made the remark during a meeting with APC women leaders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where she spoke on leadership responsibility and treatment of citizens.

“The best caterer in Lagos is the person who caters for my food, and that is the food I give them,” she said.

Mrs Tinubu explained that leadership extends beyond political decisions to everyday acts of care, hospitality, and fairness toward those who serve in various capacities.

She argued that leaders must treat people with dignity, regardless of their social or economic status, noting that how leaders treat others reflects their values.

According to her, small acts of fairness contribute to trust between leaders and citizens, especially in political environments where inequality and neglect are often reported.

The First Lady said she believes in extending the same quality she receives to those around her, stressing that leadership should not be detached from empathy.

Mrs Tinubu also noted that politics requires sensitivity and continuous engagement with people at all levels of society.
