Several reactions have trailed a statement by Kenneth Okonkwo, a veteran actor and politician.

The statement by Okonkwo was contained in a post he shared on his official X handle on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

According to Punch, the Supreme Court has invalidated the national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025. In a split decision delivered on Thursday, three of the five justices of the apex court held that the appeal filed by the Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the PDP lacked merit.

In a post shared on his page, the veteran actor stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) convention held in Ibadan was nullified by the Supreme Court of Nigeria in a split decision.

He explained that the court’s decision was based on the party’s failure to comply with an earlier order directing that Sule Lamido be allowed to participate in the convention, an order the PDP allegedly disregarded.

According to Kenneth Okonkwo on his official X account;
