According to a report by Daily Post on Sunday, May 10, 2026, the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Rauf Aregbesola, has dismissed reports suggesting that he is considering a return to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Aregbesola made this known on Sunday while speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Ilesa, where he addressed members and supporters of the party.
He stated that there was no basis for claims linking him with a possible move back to the ruling party.
The former governor of Osun State explained that he had no intention of rejoining the APC, stressing that his political direction remains with the ADC.
He maintained that his decision was firm and that there was no reason for him to go back to his former political platform.
During the meeting, Aregbesola also criticised the performance of the ruling party at the federal level, saying the current administration has increased the difficulties being experienced by Nigerians across the country.
He stated that many citizens are currently facing severe economic hardship and worsening living conditions.
According to him, the situation has placed many families under pressure as the cost of living continues to rise.
Aregbesola urged residents and supporters in Osun State to remain committed to the ADC, describing the party as a reliable alternative capable of providing better leadership and governance for the people.
He said, “Our candidate, Najeem Folasayo Salaam Iwaloye, is a man of the people. He is loyal, committed, and deeply desires to return our state to the pedestal of development at which we left it in 2018. We urge everyone to support us. We will not let you down.”
