In a recent interview shared by News Central, lawyer and political analyst Liborous Oshoma assessed the ongoing legal disputes affecting political party leadership and the wider implications for electoral preparedness. He warned that the multiplicity of cases and court processes could significantly delay resolution and deepen uncertainty within the affected parties.
Oshoma said, “I doubt ADC will be able to resolve these issues within the limited timeframe available” He explained that the ongoing litigation and procedural back-and-forth between courts are contributing to delays that may outlast critical political deadlines.
He further noted that repeated appeals, interim orders, and conflicting interpretations of rulings have made it difficult for institutions involved to maintain clarity and stability. The analyst stressed that while courts remain central to dispute resolution, prolonged litigation can affect governance, party organisation, and public confidence in democratic processes.
According to him, the situation underscores the importance of judicial efficiency in politically sensitive matters where delays can have national implications. He urged ADC to prioritize compliance with court directives and focus on substantive resolution rather than procedural escalation.
He concluded that unless stakeholders adopt faster internal resolution mechanisms and reduce reliance on prolonged court battles, similar disputes may continue to disrupt political timelines ahead of elections. Weeks of legal uncertainty continue to shape party leadership contests and raise concerns about preparedness for upcoming electoral deadlines across major political parties.
