Speaking against the backdrop of uncertainty ahead of a Supreme Court ruling, Salihu said the party remains hopeful about the outcome, emphasizing its trust in legal processes. He noted that the ADC is not anticipating an unfavourable judgment, stressing its belief in the rule of law.
He criticized the decision of a lower court, describing it as unnecessary and poorly timed, particularly because it was delivered just before a key Supreme Court hearing. According to him, the ruling appeared intended to divert attention from the substantive issues before the apex court.
Salihu further maintained that the matter in question is purely an internal party issue, adding that the ADC has operated in line with its constitution and relevant legal provisions. He affirmed that the party would stay focused and committed to lawful procedures despite the challenges.
He also remarked that the judiciary is currently under close public watch and urged it to uphold fairness and neutrality in its decision-making, noting that a credible judgment would reinforce democratic principles.
