According to report by Vanguard on Friday, June 12, 2026, as the Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026 draws closer, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced plans for a high-profile grand finale rally in Ado-Ekiti on Saturday, June 13, bringing together a wide array of prominent party leaders and stakeholders from across the country.

According to the Wole Oluyede Campaign Organisation, the event is expected to attract major PDP figures, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro.

Also expected are Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central, Senator Abdul Ningi, and several other serving lawmakers from the National Assembly.

The PDP National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, is billed to lead a strong delegation comprising the National Secretary, Senator Sam Anyanwu, his deputy Chief Bisi Kolawole, and other members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

Other notable attendees will include former governors such as Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, Sule Lamido of Jigawa, Ahmed Makarfi of Kaduna, and Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State.

Former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana, along with members of the PDP Board of Trustees led by Senator Adolphus Wabara, are also expected.

The rally will further host party stalwarts like Chief Olabode George, PDP chairmen from all 36 states and the FCT, as well as the party’s governorship candidate in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu.

Meanwhile, Dr. Wole Oluyede has intensified his campaign across all 16 local government areas of Ekiti State, presenting his agenda to voters.

His manifesto focuses on key sectors such as stable electricity through an independent power initiative, improved security via new police posts in vulnerable areas, and expanded road infrastructure including circular road networks.

He also promises economic reforms aimed at supporting small businesses through cooperatives, reducing tax burdens, and strengthening civil service training.

Other priorities include clearing pension arrears, boosting healthcare delivery, enhancing tourism-driven revenue, and granting full autonomy to local governments to drive grassroots development.
