Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has held a closed-door meeting with the National Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Dickson Seriake, in Abuja, amid renewed discussions on political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, which was captured in recent photos shared on Friday, 12th June, 2026, via the official Instagram account of the NDC Chairman, showed Peter Obi in a private discussion with Dickson Seriake during what appeared to be a strategic consultation session.
However, noticeably absent from the meeting was former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, whose involvement had previously been associated with similar political engagements involving both Obi and the NDC leadership.
Kwankwaso’s absence has continued to generate speculation within political circles, given his earlier participation in discussions involving key opposition figures and the NDC leadership.
Although no official statement has been released regarding the outcome of the meeting, the development is being viewed by political observers as part of broader efforts by emerging political platforms to strengthen alliances ahead of the next election cycle.
The NDC leadership has recently attracted increased attention following a series of high-level consultations involving prominent political figures across the country, as conversations around coalition-building continue to shape the political landscape.
As of press time, neither Peter Obi nor the NDC leadership has issued an official communiqué detailing the specific outcomes of the meeting.
