According to a report by Al-Jazeera on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Heavy fighting between Hezbollah and Israeli forces intensified across southern Lebanon overnight and into the early hours of the morning, with sustained air strikes, artillery bombardments and ground engagements reported in several areas.

The city of Tyre and its surrounding communities experienced some of the most intense violence, as Israeli warplanes carried out a series of air raids that reportedly resulted in multiple casualties. Residents described a night marked by continuous explosions and heavy shelling, underscoring the escalating conflict along Lebanon’s southern front.

One of the most significant waves of attacks targeted the town of Tayr, located on the outskirts of Tyre. Israeli missiles struck several locations in the area, while another air strike hit the al-Bass Palestinian refugee camp, adding to concerns over the impact of the conflict on civilian-populated areas.

Artillery shelling around Tyre continued throughout the night, with little indication of a reduction in hostilities. The bombardment was accompanied by exchanges of fire between Hezbollah fighters and Israeli troops operating in southern Lebanon, highlighting the increasingly direct nature of the confrontation.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for several attacks against Israeli forces during the latest round of fighting. The Lebanese armed group said it targeted Israeli soldiers in the town of Bayada on the southwestern front, describing the operation as part of its ongoing resistance against Israeli military advances.

The group also reported launching attacks against Israeli troops in the town of Khiam, where clashes have intensified in recent days. According to Hezbollah, the operation took place within the last few hours as fighting continued across multiple sectors of southern Lebanon.

In a separate statement, Hezbollah announced a new military operation targeting Israeli forces in the Nabatieh district. The area has emerged as a major battleground following Israeli efforts to strengthen positions around the strategic Beaufort Castle, a high-ground location that offers a commanding view of surrounding territories.

Military activity has also expanded further north. Israeli forces have reportedly intensified strikes on the town of Niha, located north of the Litani River, as part of broader efforts to gain additional territory in eastern Lebanon. The increased military pressure suggests Israel is seeking to expand its operational footprint beyond traditional conflict zones near the border.
