Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, has addressed recent internal tensions within the party, assuring members that efforts are underway to restore unity and strengthen cohesion ahead of future political engagements.
Speaking in an interview with TVC News, Mohammed downplayed widely reported differences involving Nyesom Wike and Seyi Makinde. He stressed that any issues between the two political figures should be treated as personal matters rather than institutional conflicts within the party, noting that such disagreements are not unusual in political organisations.
Mohammed emphasized that the PDP remains focused on consolidating its internal structure and moving beyond past disputes. He stated that while differences of opinion may arise among key stakeholders, they should not be allowed to undermine the party’s broader objectives or disrupt its strategic direction.
He further reiterated the leadership’s commitment to reconciliation, revealing that measures are being implemented to engage aggrieved members and rebuild trust across various levels of the party. According to him, dialogue and inclusiveness remain central to the PDP’s approach to resolving internal challenges.
Expressing optimism about the outcome of ongoing consultations, Mohammed urged party members to prioritise unity, discipline, and collective interest over personal disagreements. He maintained that sustained cooperation among stakeholders will be essential for the party’s success as it prepares to navigate upcoming political contests and national challenges.
