According to a recent news on Daily Post, Former Vice President and prominent member of the African Democratic Congress, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the recent ruling of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, describing it as a defining moment for leadership legitimacy within the party while urging members not to lose focus on broader political objectives.

The Supreme Court had earlier upheld the leadership structure of the ADC under former Senate President David Mark, a decision that has now been widely welcomed by key stakeholders in the party as a stabilising development after months of internal disputes.

Reacting through his official communication channel, Atiku described the judgment as an affirmation of the party’s leadership and a validation of its institutional direction. He noted that while the ruling represents progress, it should not be interpreted as the end of the political struggle or the broader mission of political reform in the country.

He emphasised that the political journey ahead remains long and demanding, especially in the effort to reshape Nigeria’s governance structure and provide what he described as a credible alternative to the current system. According to him, the outcome of the court case should serve as motivation rather than a signal for relaxation among party members and supporters.

Atiku also stressed that the ruling reflects the resilience of citizens who continue to support democratic engagement despite political uncertainties. He acknowledged their role in sustaining opposition movements and described their commitment as central to ongoing political efforts.

He further called on supporters of the ADC across the country to remain vigilant and united, insisting that sustained engagement is necessary to achieve long-term political goals. He warned that political progress requires continuous effort and collective discipline from all stakeholders involved.

The former Vice President reiterated that the struggle for political restructuring and national development remains ongoing, adding that unity within the party will be crucial in determining its future success.
