JUST IN: Mossad Head Says Strategic and Tactical Enemy Intelligence Has Been Obtained

According to the Anadolu Agency, on Tuesday 28 April, 2026, just as the public is starting to catch wind of Israel’s covert conflict with Iran, the head of the country’s intelligence agency is providing a unique look at the potential scope of such activities.

David Barnea, speaking at an event held within Mossad headquarters, detailed an intelligence campaign that, according to him, had extended far into Iranian territory and beyond. The occasion served as both an awards ceremony and a declaration of purpose; he implied that Israel’s clandestine wing is moving from a supporting role to a more prominent one alongside the military.

At the heart of the enemy’s secrets, we got strategic and tactical intelligence,” Barnea declared. “In target countries, we showcased innovative and ground-breaking operational capabilities.”

Israeli officials are painting a picture of a doctrine change in which intelligence collection, targeted operations, and military force are more interdependent, and his comments are indicative of this trend. Barnea claims that as a result of Mossad’s actions, strikes have been carried out “in the heart of Tehran,” senior operators have been “thwarted,” and efforts to gain air superiority while strengthening domestic defences have been strengthened.

“The covert diplomatic campaign, whose importance is critical for forging regional alliances and expanding Israel’s strategic depth,” he added, mentioning that the agency had also “carried out the operations recognised this year, which enabled us to break boundaries in Lebanon and Iran.”

There is a high possibility of escalation due to the ongoing tensions between Iran and its regional supporters, especially Hezbollah, which the remarks are made against. According to Barnea, the intelligence breakthroughs have been portrayed as revolutionary, and the military’s cooperation with them has “changed Israel’s strategic posture.”

His tone was triumphant and cautionary simultaneously. “We will not be satisfied with mediocrity,” he declared. “We shall respond vigorously whenever danger is detected.”

The message is crystal apparent for onlookers: Israel views the conflict as a broadening campaign, not a string of individual incidents, and it will certainly affect the security environment of the region in the coming months.
