According to a report by Fox News, on Sunday April 26, 2026, as the investigation into the security breach at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 25, 2026, continues, Fox News senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich is shedding light on the terrifying moments attendees experienced inside the ballroom.
Heinrich, who was present on stage when the incident occurred, described the confusion of the event and the professional response of the Secret Service.
Heinrich detailed the initial moments of the breach, noting that for those inside the secure area, the nature of the emergency was initially ambiguous.
While the sounds of the struggle reached the stage, the source remained hidden from view.
“From my vantage point it sounded like plates of clanging,” Heinrich reported. “It was not clear what it was had happened outside the secure perimeter.”
Despite the initial confusion, Heinrich offered a clear defense of the Secret Service’s performance, emphasizing that the agents succeeded in their primary objective: keeping the threat away from the 3,000 guests in attendance.
“When the president talks about whether there was a failure of Secret Service or not, it is true they did do their job,” Heinrich said. “They stopped the threat. It never got inside.”
Reflecting on the potential outcome had the security perimeter been compromised, Heinrich expressed profound relief.
“Had that threat gotten inside the ballroom, we can only imagine what that might have looked like and felt like,” she added. “There were 3,000 people in that room and no one was hurt, which is really a miracle.”
