Nana Otedola, wife of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola and mother of DJ Cuppy and Temi Otedola, has finally addressed rumours about her nationality,
She addressed the rumours in a report shared by LEADERSHIP on Friday June 19 2026.
In a viral video, Nana explained that many people have wrongly assumed she is Ghanaian because of her name and appearance. She, however, dismissed the claim, saying it is not true.
She made it clear that she is proudly Nigerian and hails from Abeokuta in Ogun State. She also identified herself as an Egba woman, a subgroup of the Yoruba ethnic group.
Speaking during a conversation with her daughter, Temi, she said she felt the need to correct the long-standing misconception about her identity.
She stated,
“To clear the room for everybody, I’m an Egba woman, and that’s the part I’ll gladly claim as a Nigerian. I am not a Ghanaian; my roots are in Abeokuta.”
