Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has cautioned Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be wary of certain governors within the All Progressives Congress (APC), warning that not all may be as loyal as they appear.
In a recent statement, the cleric alleged that the president could be receiving misleading signals from individuals within his political circle. He advised Tinubu to look beyond outward displays of support and carefully assess the true intentions of those around him, especially as political maneuvering intensifies ahead of future elections.
According to Ayodele, “Some APC governors might disappoint Tinubu. He should see beyond what they are showing him; he is being deceived.”
His remarks come at a time when internal dynamics within the ruling party are increasingly under scrutiny. Governors play a critical role in shaping political outcomes, particularly through grassroots mobilization and influence within their respective states. As such, their loyalty is often a decisive factor in national political strategies.
Ayodele’s warning highlights broader concerns about unity within the APC and the reliability of political alliances. He suggested that current expressions of support may not necessarily translate into long-term commitment, urging the president to remain vigilant.
The statement also reflects a wider reality in Nigeria’s political environment, where alliances can shift quickly based on evolving interests and ambitions. Leaders are often required to navigate complex relationships while ensuring they maintain a clear understanding of their support base.
