According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Thursday, April 30, 2026, Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly cautioned U.S. President Donald Trump that any renewed military operations involving the United States and Israel against Iran could trigger serious consequences for regional stability and global security.
According to information from the call held on Thursday night, Putin warned that escalating military action would not be limited in impact to Iran alone, but could extend across neighbouring countries and disrupt broader international peace and security.
He reportedly stressed that a ground military operation on Iranian territory would be particularly dangerous and unacceptable under current global conditions, urging restraint from all parties involved in the escalating tensions.
“Any renewal of military operations would lead to highly negative consequences not only for Iran and its neighbours but for the entire international community,” Putin was quoted as saying during the conversation.
The Russian leader further emphasised that deploying ground forces in Iran would significantly increase the risk of a wider regional conflict, warning that such a step could further destabilise already fragile security conditions in the Middle East.
A ground operation has reportedly been considered in policy discussions in Washington, with suggestions that it could be aimed at securing or removing enriched uranium stockpiles from Iranian territory. However, no official confirmation has been provided by U.S. authorities regarding any such operational plan.
The reported exchange comes at a time of heightened tensions between Iran, Israel, and Western powers, with growing concerns over military escalation and its potential impact on global energy routes, diplomatic relations, and international security frameworks.
Neither the White House nor the Kremlin has released a full official transcript of the call, and details remain based on preliminary reports.
