According to a report by DAILY POST on Tuesday 9th June 2026, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has distanced itself from lists circulating online claiming to show the outcome of its primary elections in Kano State, insisting that no official results have been released nationwide.
The clarification was made on Tuesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, following reports that some aspirants allegedly linked to the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, had been removed from a list of successful candidates.
According to the NDC, any results currently in circulation should be disregarded, as the party has not formally announced the outcome of its primaries in any state of the federation.
The party further revealed that leaders of the Kwankwasiyya Movement recently met with NDC officials, including the party’s national leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, in an effort to address disagreements within the Kano chapter.
The closed-door meeting focused on finding common ground between members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and existing NDC stakeholders in the state; Party leaders said the engagement formed part of ongoing efforts to ensure unity, inclusiveness, and broad participation among members.
The NDC emphasized that it remains committed to internal democracy and would not impose candidates in Kano State or elsewhere across the country; It assured party members that all concerns raised during the primary process would be handled fairly and transparently.
According to the statement, discussions during the meeting were constructive, with participants expressing optimism that the mediation process would help strengthen the party ahead of future political activities.
