MTiamiyu, a farm worker and survivor of a recent kidnapping incident in Oyo State, has narrated how he and his colleagues were abducted by armed men shortly after completing repair work on a faulty borehole system at a farm facility.
In a report published by the NIGERIAN TRIBUNE on Saturday, May 2, 2026, MTiamiyu stated that the incident occurred after the team finished urgent maintenance work aimed at restoring water supply to livestock on the farm.
He explained that their vehicle initially had a fuel issue but was later refuelled before they proceeded to Farm Three to complete the assignment. He added that while they were leaving the location at about 4:30 p.m., they were ambushed at a junction by armed men who opened fire and surrounded their vehicle.
MTiamiyu further stated that the attackers demanded to know the farm owner, robbed them of their belongings, and abducted all the workers before taking them away into captivity.
He said,
“We were at Farm Three junction when I heard a loud gunshot behind us. Before we could turn to see what was happening, we saw armed men emerging at our front. They were about 10 in number and wearing masks. They started barking at us: ‘Everybody, come down.”
