Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has attributed the longevity and stability of his marriage to discipline, forgiveness, and consistent communication according to report by VANGUARD on Saturday May 2 2026.
Speaking during the church’s May Holy Ghost Service themed Excellent Counsel, Adeboye offered guidance on sustaining healthy marriages, urging couples to adopt habits that promote unity and understanding.
He emphasized the importance of promptly resolving conflicts, noting that he and his wife have maintained a strong and enduring relationship by ensuring that disagreements are settled before going to bed. According to him, this principle has played a key role in preserving their marriage since 1967, allowing them to sustain a relationship he described as still enjoying a honeymoon phase.
He said, “If you are married, take my counsel. I’ve been married now since 1967. By the grace of God, I’m still on honeymoon, because under no circumstance will I go to bed without settling with my wife.”
