According to Daily Post, Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has addressed the controversy surrounding his relationship with former Anambra State governor and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, recalling the support he offered during a difficult period in Obi’s political journey.

Speaking during a church programme on Friday, Mbaka responded to criticisms from some of Obi’s supporters, insisting that his contributions to the former governor’s struggles have been overlooked by many. He claimed that he played a major role behind the scenes when Obi was removed from office as Anambra governor.

The cleric argued that several individuals who now openly identify with Obi were not present during the crisis period. He also mentioned people such as Chris Uba and Cletus Ibeto as witnesses to events surrounding the impeachment saga.

Mbaka maintained that his actions were driven by concern for the people and not personal interest, describing himself as someone who brings solutions rather than problems.

His words: “Listen, when Peter Obi was impeached as a governor, Peter Obi is still alive, all the midnight movement made to gather the documents to bring him back, father Mbaka! All I did for Peter, none of these people crying Obi, Obi…can’t do one out of hundred of what I did for Peter Obi.”
