Brian Dennis, the Deputy Director of New Media and Strategic Communications for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has addressed claims that he previously criticized former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi.
Dennis responded through a post on his verified X account on June 12, 2026, shortly after the party announced key appointments within its communications structure. As part of the reshuffle, Agada Abuh Theophilus was named Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, while Dennis was appointed Deputy Director.
Following the announcement, some social media users revisited Dennis’s past political affiliations and questioned his relationship with Peter Obi. In response, he clarified his position, insisting that he has never engaged in personal attacks against the former presidential candidate.
According to Dennis, his support for Obi began in 2025, and while he did not back him during the 2023 election cycle, it was solely because they belonged to different political parties at the time. He explained that political differences should not be mistaken for hostility or personal criticism.
Favor As Higher Power? (The hidden truth) Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
Dennis further stated that he has consistently avoided abusive political rhetoric and challenged anyone to provide evidence showing that he had ever insulted Obi. He emphasized that respectful engagement, rather than personal attacks, has always guided his approach to politics.
In his statement, he noted that his decision not to support Obi in 2023 was based on party loyalty, as he was then a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). However, he maintained that he never resorted to disparaging remarks against the former Anambra governor and remains committed to conducting politics with civility and respect.
His comments have since generated discussion online, with supporters and critics alike sharing their views on his clarification and his new role within the NDC’s communications team.
