Wonderful appointment – US Army Captain reacts to Gen Musa’s nomination as Defence Minister

US Army Captain Bish Johnson, Rtd has commended President Bola Tinubu for nominating former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa as new Minister of Defence.

DAILY POST reports that following the sudden resignation of Badaru Abubakar as Minister of Defence, Tinubu on Tuesday nominated General Musa as his replacement.

The former CDC is expected to be screened at the House of Senate today, December 3rd 2025.

Reacting to the nomination, Captain Johnson in an interview with TVC News on Tuesday night, said Musa’s return to service is a welcome development.

He said, “It’s a wonderful appointment, appointment well deserved. President Tinubu has ensured operational stability by returning the former CDS as now Minister of defence.

“He was one of the security chiefs that has worked so hard on the insecurity that has been bedeviling this country for a decade now.

“Some of us were saddened when he retired. Nigerians are going to have a better synergy between the ministry of defence and the operational military commanders including the Chief of Defence Staff”.
