Delegates Slumps, Dies
Isah Baba-Buji, a delegate from Jigawa State in the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries, slumped and died while eating breakfast in Abuja on Tuesday.
Bashir Kundu, the APC’s Jigawa spokesperson, verified the event to reporters in Jigawa. He claimed the official died while eating breakfast and was ready to travel to the party convention’s location.
Yahaya Bello, a presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, has revealed why he “excused himself” from a meeting of the party’s northern governors with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday.

According to reports, Adamu has named Ahmed Lawan, the Senate President, as the APC’s presidential consensus candidate.
Senator Yahaya Abdullahi, the Senate leader in Kebbi State, has defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“Senate Leader Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi will leave Abuja on Wednesday by 9 a.m. for Kebbi and proceed to Kamba local government to formally declare for PDP and possibly indicate his interest to contest his current seat,” said his special adviser on media and publicity Muhammad Jamil Gulma, who confirmed the defection.
