Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Egbewole, has cautioned the American government to shun the plan to invade Nigeria over the current insecurity issue confronting the country.
He stated this at a press conference in Ilorin, on the 50th Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the institution.
Professor Egbewole, said Nigeria required assistance in the area of military weapons and intelligence to overcome the insecurity challenges facing the country.
He further advised Nigerians to discard radical extremism and join hands with the government to save the country from security challenges.
On the golden jubilee anniversary of the University of Ilorin, Professor Egbewole, noted that the institution has achieved the purpose of its establishment in the last 50 years through research and innovation.
He said since the creation of the university in 1975 it has become a great citadel of learning through resilience and hard work of the founding fathers.
He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the support extended to the university to enable it attain the present level of development.
The VC, also commended the University community, security agencies, students and management of the institution for contributing their quota towards better growth and development of the institution.
