Saudi Source: Normalization With Israel Possible Under Different Government, Not Netanyahu

According to a report by The Jerusalem Post on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, according to an Israeli news outlet, a top source within the Saudi royal family has stated that normalising relations between the two countries is possible, but only if the current Israeli administration acknowledges the two-state solution and takes steps to resolve the continuing crisis in the Middle East.

Normative relations between the two countries “will likely not happen under Netanyahu’s current government,” the royal source said.

The Saudi government considers the acknowledgement of Palestinian statehood as an essential condition for diplomatic relations with Israel, according to the anonymous source.

“Perhaps it will occur before the end of October 2026, which is over a year from now, provided that a new administration is established that recognises the two-state concept and finally resolves the Middle East conflict, God willing,” the insider said N12.

Moreover, he reiterated that the Arab League, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation must all work together to ensure Israel’s security before normalisation can occur.

The Saudi royal family, including myself, will buy properties in Nahariya and vacation there twice a year, the person said, indicating a desire for peaceful coexistence based on strong regional assurances. “Gaza and the West Bank will be demilitarised,” the source added.

These remarks come after a Washington Post article revealed that a number of Arab countries—the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar—quietly increased their security cooperation with Israel over the protracted Israel-Hamas conflict.

Even though many of these nations denounced the Gaza battle in public, the research said that in order to keep regional instability in check, they secretly stepped up intelligence sharing and military communication lines with Israel. The Saudi insider hinted that a shift is on the horizon when discussing Israel’s political future.

He predicted that Likud will lose the upcoming elections in October 2026 and that Israel would suffer greatly as a result of Netanyahu’s and the Kahanist right’s erroneous policies.

“No one who follows him will be able to undo all his mistakes in a sequential fashion.” It seems that recent surveys agree with his evaluation.

There may be a change in political momentum, according to a Maariv poll that came out on Friday; it predicted that the coalition led by Netanyahu would gain 51 Knesset seats, while the opposition was expected to secure 59.

The election is still close, according to a another poll that came out last week; 51% of people still prefer Netanyahu, while 49% support former prime minister Naftali Bennett.
