Police move against bandits, insurgents in Kaduna, launch clearance operation

The Kaduna State Police Command has launched a large-scale clearance operation across the state in a renewed push to dislodge insurgents, bandits and other criminal elements threatening public safety.

The Command explained that the operation is being carried out in synergy with the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services, DSS, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kaduna Vigilante Service, KADVS, as well as local vigilante groups and hunters.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesman, Mansir Hussaini, explained that the combined security forces are currently conducting coordinated raids within Makarfi, Hunkuyi and Ikara local government areas, where criminals are believed to have established several hideouts.

The statement added that the operation is strategically designed to flush out bandits, dismantle illegal camps and restore lasting peace within communities affected by persistent security threats.

It also follows fresh marching orders issued by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, directing all police commands nationwide to intensify efforts to eliminate criminal activities in their jurisdictions.

The Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, CP Rabiu Muhammad, said the clearance mission will be continuous, noting that security agencies are working in close coordination to ensure maximum impact.

He assured residents that the collaborative offensive will be sustained until all criminal elements are neutralised or forced out of the state completely.

The police boss further urged communities to remain calm, cooperate with security operatives and provide timely information that could aid ongoing operations.

The Command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, assuring that the relative peace currently being enjoyed in many parts of the state will be fully consolidated.
