
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended eight suspected members of a notorious cult and armed robbery gang during a targeted operation in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.
According to a statement by the Command, the operation was carried out in the early hours of Tuesday, October 15, 2025, by the Bullock Tactical Team, following credible intelligence on the activities of criminal elements in the area.
At about 5:30 a.m., the team stormed a suspected hideout, arresting eight suspects allegedly plotting coordinated attacks.
The suspects were identified as Fadiya Ayodele, Lawal Rasheed, Akerele Demilare, Alimi Victor, Okiki Alufoge, Nurudeen Dolapo, Agboola Samuel, and Ayolade Victor.
Recovered items from the scene include a Nigerian military camouflage uniform, a battle axe, an assault dagger, various charms, and counterfeit foreign currency amounting to $3,000 in fake $100 bills.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Fadiya Ayodele confessed to being the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in the Odogunyan axis. He also disclosed that he had previously handed over a locally made pistol to one Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently on the run.
Police authorities confirmed that efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspect and recover the weapon.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the tactical team for their swift action and assured residents that the Command remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining law and order across Lagos State.
