The Chairman, Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Senator Dayo Adeyeye has revealed that the present security challenges Nigeria is experiencing is sponsored and orchestrated.
Senator Adeyeye said the problem is being sponsored by some disgruntled Nigerians who want to discredit President Bola Tinubu and scuttle his chances in the 2027 Presidential election.
Adeyeye said this while delivering a lecture titled, “Mentorship: A tool for fostering progressive democracy”, as a recipient of the lifetime leadership achievement award of the Faculty of Administration of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State on Tuesday.
The lecture and award formed part of the second Faculty of Administration week and mentorship 2025.
Adeyeye said, “The recent violence and kidnappings in the country is being sponsored and orchestrated by some group of people who want to discredit this government and who probably are afraid that President Bola Tinubu is going to have an easy way in 2027.”
The former Minister of Works who also disclosed that the insecurity challenge is not ordinary added that President is not taking the situation lightly.
While maintaining that the situation will backfire, he also revealed that President Tinubu has rolled out security measures which when implemented properly will solve the challenge permanently.
“So, it is not ordinary but I can assure you that at the moment President Bola Tinubu is taking the situation very seriously.
“To me, the whole security situation will backfire because the president has rolled out very serious security emergency programmes which I believe of properly implemented with more boots on the ground, with more ammunition, with states having their own police, this problem would be solved and we will put it behind us once and for all,” he concluded.
