The (MASSOB) has issued a stern warning to individuals it described as “disgruntled and sponsored persons” in the diaspora who, according to the group, are using pro-Biafra activism to incite political unrest in the South-East ahead of the upcoming .
In a strongly worded statement signed by its leader, Comrade , the group condemned online campaigns calling for sit-at-home actions during the election. MASSOB described the move as a “deceitful ploy” aimed at destabilizing Igboland.
“MASSOB will never allow this deceit to scale through. Several times during elections in the South-East, they always come up with this sympathetic deceit of sit-at-home during election days, claiming that such futile exercise enhances Biafra actualization. But MASSOB always countered and stopped them. This time they will fail,” the statement declared.

The group further warned those behind the campaign to desist immediately, stressing that no anti-Biafra elements or foreign-based agitators would be allowed to destabilize the region.
MASSOB assured residents of that the November 8 election will hold as scheduled. It disclosed that it has already embarked on underground mobilization and sensitization to ensure massive participation by residents and pro-Biafra supporters.
“MASSOB members and other pro-Biafra groups are coming out to participate in the election with our massive support to a competent and credible candidate that is full of Igbo blood,” the statement read.
The group also called on the (INEC) not to be distracted by “external noise” and to proceed with preparations for the poll.
“Having studied the political, economic, religious, and social implications of not having a credible election in Anambra State—and the political instability and chaos that may erupt—we insist that the governorship election must be peaceful and credible,” MASSOB stated.
The group urged the people of Anambra to exercise their fundamental and constitutional rights by coming out to choose their next governor, stressing that “Anambra political space will never be in vacuum.”
MASSOB emphasized that its stance on the Anambra election is rooted in the overall interest of the Igbo nation and not a shift from its self-determination agenda.
“Our position does not mean derailment of the Biafra self-determination struggle. We must always consider the overall interest of Ndigbo first before a group or individual interest,” Comrade Madu concluded.
