Ladies: 2 Things That Can Affect The Vagina’s Elasticity Over Time

Women often feel concerned about loose vagina as they age. However, is there really anything as a loose vagina? This will be addressed in this article.

Primarily, the vagina is an elastic organ which can stretch to accommodate anything coming in or out, be it a baby or the male s£xual organ during s£x. Being elastic, it often snaps back to its initial shape.

An article by Healthline indicates that there’s no such thing as a “loose” vagina. While it may change over time due to age and childbirth, but it won’t lose its stretch permanently.

It is simply a term often used to shame people for their sex lives. This is because people generally tend to use it to describe a person who has had s£x with more than one partner.

Noteworthy is that frequent s£x won’t cause the vagina to lose its stretch. Two things primarily affect the elasticity of the vagina:

1. Childbirth which can weaken the vaginal muscles with each subsequent birth

2. Age which is associated with a drop in the estrogen levels which in turn can make the vagina thinner & drier.

In summary, while age & childbirth can make the vagina to slightly lose Its elasticity, it doesn’t stretch out the muscles permanently. If you in any way feel concerned about your vaginal or reproductive health especially after childbirth, ensure to talk to your doctor about it.
