It’s unacceptable – Shehu Sani slams Trump over Somalia comment

Former lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani has criticized United States President Donald Trump for using what he described as racist comments on Somalia, insisting it is unacceptable.

Sani specifically stated that it is unconscionable and undoubtedly racist for a world leader to call a dignified people “garbage” and to say that their country “stinks.”

According to him, what Trump said about Somalia is actually worse than what he said about Nigeria and South Africa.

In a post on his X handle on Wednesday, the former lawmaker accused Trump of praising oil-rich Arab Gulf states while choosing slander for sub-Saharan Black countries.

He wrote: “What Trump said about Somalia is actually worse than what he said about Nigeria and South Africa. How can a world leader call a dignified people ‘garbage’ and even say their country ‘stinks’? This is unconscionable and undoubtedly racist. Praises for oil-rich Arab Gulf states and slander for sub-Saharan Black countries is unacceptable.”
