Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has expressed optimism that insecurity in Northern Nigeria is just a phase that will end very soon.
Sule expressed this hope on Tuesday in an interview on Arise Television monitored by DAILY POST.
His comment is coming against the backdrop of the renewed wave of insecurity in Nigeria, especially in the North.
DAILY POST reports that bandits attacked Kwara community two times in barely two weeks and abducted locals. However, the 38 worshippers of the Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, were reportedly rescued.
Also, over 200 hundred schoolchildren were whisked away from a Catholic private school in Niger state out of which 50 reportedly escaped and were reunited with their families.
On Tuesday, the 24 schoolgirls who were kidnapped from public school in Kebbi State were said to have been released.
Reacting, the governor said, “It is exciting that the 24 schoolgirls kidnapped from Maga in Kebbi State have regained their freedom.
“I would like to congratulate President Tinubu on the release of the schoolgirls, as well as the Kebbi State governor and the security agencies whose efforts made this possible.
“However, the biggest congratulations must go to the parents of these victims for remaining calm and placing their trust in the government. Insecurity in Northern Nigeria is just a phase that will soon end.”
