Imo State Government has begun recertification exercise for every landed property within Government Layouts across the 27 LGAs in the State.
In a press statement issued from the office of the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, informed that the move is in compliance with the directive from the State Governor, Hope Uzodinma.
According to the Commissioner, the recertification exercise will commence with a re-survey of all landed property in layouts under the Owerri Schedule, which will commence on Monday, December 8, 2025.
Emelumba further disclosed that the accredited land surveyors will be on site to collect the necessary data for the recertification process, which will lead to the issuance of new Certificates of Occupancy to eligible plot owners.
He added that all allottees and plot owners are requested to cooperate fully with the survey teams to ensure a smooth and successful exercise, maintaining that the exercise if fully concluded will bring lifelong benefits to property owners in the State.
