Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has declared that her suspension from the Senate was based on fraud, according to a report by The Sun on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
The lawmaker from Kogi Central said the document used to remove her was not genuine.
She explained that the paper read during plenary was written by the office of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
According to her, the document was not backed by proper signatures.
She said what was attached was only an attendance sheet, not an official endorsement.

Natasha said this exposed deep irregularities in the action taken against her.
She described the suspension as an illegality that should never have happened.
She urged Nigerians to reject such acts, warning that it undermines democracy.
The Senator also addressed rumours that she would be asked to apologise as a condition for her return.
She firmly rejected that idea, she said she had no words of apology because she cannot apologise for what she called an injustice.
Natasha insisted that demanding an apology in exchange for reopening her office was wrong.
She said it would only amount to legitimising fraud.
She stressed that if this is the condition, then there is a long struggle ahead.
Natasha reminded Nigerians that the rule of law must be respected.
She said the manipulation of documents and the use of illegal procedures weaken public trust in the legislature.
She vowed to continue defending her mandate and standing against injustice.
“And if apologise is the condition for opening this office, then I think we have a long dance to make,” he said.
