A senior government official has confirmed that former President Goodluck Jonathan is safe in Guinea-Bissau after the recent military coup in the country.
According to Vanguard, a source who spoke on Thursday, on condition of anonymity, added that plans are being made for his return to Nigeria.
The source stated that a multinational task force, including Nigerian personnel, is stationed in Guinea-Bissau to ensure the safety of Jonathan and other Nigerian officials currently in the country.
“Nigeria is taking the necessary steps to ensure their security and facilitate their return,” the source said.
