BREAKING: Voters Chase EFCC Operatives Out Of Polling Unit At Ongoing Ekiti Governorship Election

According to report by Nigerian Tribune on Saturday, June 20, 2026, during the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election, there was a brief period of tension at Polling Unit 10, Ward B, in Iyin-Ekiti. Some voters accosted EFCC officials and forced them to leave the polling center.

While the accreditation and voting processes were in progress, the incident took place. There have been worries about vote-buying in past elections, and EFCC officials reportedly visited the polling station as part of their efforts to monitor the electoral process and prevent this behaviour.

Unfortunately, not all voters were pleased to see them at the polls. Several locals allegedly raised concerns over the deployment of EFCC officers to the voting center and demanded to know why they were there.

Favor As Higher Power? (The hidden truth) Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.

Voters claimed they could not find any evidence of vote-buying or other electoral crimes at the site.

Some voters publicly approached the anti-graft agency’s officers and demanded that they vacate the area, drawing attention to the issue.

Although the incident did not lead to physical altercation, it did generate a temporary climate of unpredictability.

The EFCC agents left the voting booth after the altercation. Their departure seemed to defuse the situation, enabling the election to go ahead as planned.

Election officials and voters alike continued with the procedure in a calm and collected fashion, ensuring that voting could go ahead without a hitch.

After the operatives departed, no news of interference with the election’s conduct surfaced.

This came at a time when security forces and election observers were keeping a close eye on the Ekiti governorship race in an effort to guarantee a fair and honest vote.

In an effort to identify and deter vote-buying and other types of electoral malpractice, the EFCC has been actively involved in election-day surveillance across the nation.

Political groups and candidates were waiting for the results while citizens and v oters all around the state were casting ballots.
