Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and its allies of deploying violence to silence opposition voices.
In a statement posted on X, Rhodes-Vivour said the Department of State Services (DSS) is aware of directives allegedly issued by the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to attack and disrupt opposition gatherings.
He alleged that the directives had already been carried out during his declaration in Alimosho, and that similar threats were issued following his successful rally at Ajeromi.

By Unlimiting Power of God, Every Dream materialized.
His words: “The president and his Lagos APC allies have controlled Lagos for more than 24 years, yet they have no record to campaign on.
“Instead they mobilise people like this to stifle opposition, while sending their own children abroad to benefit from good governance.”
He accused the ruling party of branding dissenting voices as “enemies of the president” to instil fear and weaken democracy.
Rhodes-Vivour, however, insisted that the opposition will not be intimidated, warning that “no one has a monopoly on violence”.
“When this movie starts you will quickly realise we are the many; you are the few,” he added.
