In a recent video on YouTube, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, has urged Christians to embrace both faith and modern medical care, emphasizing that healing should not be attributed solely to spiritual practices but also to the technological advancements provided by God.
Speaking during a recent ministration, Mbaka cautioned against excessive fasting at the expense of one’s health, noting that while fasting remains a vital spiritual discipline, it should not replace proper nutrition and medical attention.
“Even when you are healed in the hospital, it is still a miracle because many will go to the hospital and die there,” he said. “Fasting, prolonged fasting, will weaken your immunity. Fasting is good, but there is a season for everything. You need to be eating for the sickness to go.”
The cleric stressed that faith in God remains the foundation of divine healing but warned believers not to neglect the resources available in the medical field. According to him, hospitals, drugs, and advanced medical technologies should be seen as “technological miracles” granted to humanity by God.
“Your faith in God is more important than fasting at a time like this,” he explained. “Some of the medical facilities God provided in our time are miracles in themselves. These are technological miracles.”
