BREAKING: Putin Announces Progress in Russia’s Weapons Technology

President Vladimir Putin on Friday substantiated Russia’s weapons advancement, with a promise to continue to develop the military to make it modern and powerful.

Putin spoke during his Gunsmith’s Day visit to the Motovilikha Plants defence enterprise in Perm, where he congratulated its workers on their professional day.

Founded in 1736, the plant is the only full-cycle artillery manufacturer in Russia, producing multiple launch rocket systems and advanced barrel artillery.

Putin was shown the Derivatsiya-PVO artillery system, designed to engage air targets; the TOS-2 flamethrower system, being used in Ukraine, and the blueprints for a new plant, UEC-Perm Engines.

The leader confirmed that for certain weapons and products, “production has grown by several times over – two, three, ten, fifteen, and for some items, almost thirtyfold.”

“Thirtyfold – just within the space of eighteen months to two years,” he noted. “Quality has also improved; the equipment is modern and in demand.”

Purin expressed his confidence that Motovilikha Plants would achieve many more positive results, and promised to attend its 290th anniversary next year.

The president, however, called for the collaborative strengthening of the Russian armed forces to ensure the federation’s independence and sovereignty.

In reference to the special military operation in Ukraine, Putin said that the events “will eventually pass, but demand for modern, capable Armed Forces will not diminish.”
