Majeed Dahiru, a technical member of the Lux Terra Leadership Foundation, has strongly criticized political parties over their handling of internal democratic processes ahead of the upcoming elections. He expressed deep concerns about the growing tendency of party leaders to withhold the certified results of their primaries from members of the general public.

According to a video posted on the Official YouTube channel of Channels Television on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, while analyzing the post-primary fallout across various political platforms, he stated, “it will be suicidal for any party at all to forward candidates straight to INEC without releasing the results first,” highlighting the danger of withholding transparency.

The political analyst noted that keeping voters and party faithful in the dark regarding the outcome of internal elections could trigger major backlashes. Dahiru explained that when democratic choices are obscured, political organizations risk alienating their support base, sparking internal friction, and driving massive protest votes that could damage their chances on election day.

This administrative anomaly, according to him, has created a dangerous precedent where a few top executives can quietly manipulate lists at national headquarters. He warned that this total lack of disclosure compromises popular participation, ultimately stripping ordinary citizens of their power and replacing accountability in public governance with an dangerous civilian dictatorship.

In his concluding remarks, Majeed Dahiru urged the ruling party and opposition leaders to urgently correct this anomaly by publishing their successful candidates’ names. He emphasized that the framework guiding national elections must be respected to save what remains of the country’s democracy and keep the entire electoral landscape competitive and fair.
