According to the Anadolu agency, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said early Monday that Israeli forces used air-launched ballistic missiles in attacks targeting military sites across western and central Iran, as reports of explosions emerged from several major cities.

The strikes were reported in Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan and Karaj, marking another escalation in a conflict that has increasingly shifted from indirect confrontation to direct military exchanges between the two regional powers.

Iranian state television reported explosions in Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan, while the Tasnim news agency said blasts were heard near Karaj. State news agency IRNA later confirmed at least three explosions in Isfahan. The IRGC said the attacks involved air-launched ballistic missiles aimed at military targets.

On the Israeli side, the military said its air force had struck sites belonging to the “Iranian regime” in western and central parts of the country. Israeli authorities did not immediately provide further details on the specific targets.

The latest strikes came only hours after Iran launched several rounds of missiles toward northern Israel, according to regional media reports. Those launches followed an Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs, which Israel said targeted a Hezbollah command and planning center.

The sequence of events highlights how rapidly tensions are spreading across the region. What began as a confrontation involving multiple fronts now increasingly features direct exchanges between Israel and Iran, raising concerns about the potential for a broader and more sustained conflict.

The IRGC, Iran’s elite military force, plays a central role in the country’s defense strategy and oversees its ballistic missile program. Its confirmation of the attacks underscores the significance Tehran is placing on the latest developments.

With explosions reported across several Iranian cities and missile launches directed toward Israel, Monday’s exchanges added another volatile chapter to a conflict that continues to reshape the regional security landscape. Diplomatic efforts to ease tensions remain overshadowed by a cycle of military action that shows little sign of slowing.
