According to a report by Metro Sport, on Tuesday June 9, 2026, Arsenal have shifted their summer transfer strategy after holding discussions over a move for Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz, according to reports.

The Premier League champions, who secured the title last season under Mikel Arteta, are prioritising the addition of a wide attacker capable of operating on the left flank as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Yildiz, who plays for Juventus FC, enjoyed a breakthrough season in Serie A, registering 10 goals and six assists.

His performances earned him the league’s Rising Star award, recognising him as the best player under the age of 23.

Arsenal are understood to have made initial contact with Juventus regarding a possible deal. However, the Italian club have made their position clear, insisting the 21-year-old is not available for transfer.

Juventus, who failed to secure Champions League qualification after finishing sixth in Serie A, are expected to consider sales of other players to balance their finances. Despite this, Yildiz is viewed internally as a key figure for the future.

“I am very happy at this club,” Yildiz said when asked about his situation last month. “We want to repay all the affection shown to us by these fans.”

He is currently with the Turkey national team in the United States ahead of the World Cup, although a calf issue has raised doubts over his availability for their opening group match.

With Juventus standing firm, Arsenal have now begun exploring alternative attacking options.

The club’s recruitment team remain focused on strengthening the left-sided forward role, an area identified as a priority following internal squad reviews.

Arteta is believed to be keen on adding more unpredictability in wide areas, particularly players capable of both creating and scoring goals at a consistent level.

Yildiz had been viewed as a long-term target due to his technical quality and versatility across the front line.
